A leading Project Services firm are looking for an experienced Cost Engineer with pre-existing Pharmaceutical or Data Center experience for a project in Cork, Ireland, beginning from the end of June on a permanent basis.

This represents the chance to take a key role in the revamp of an existing Pharmaceutical manufacturing site.

Due to the current travel restrictions, my client are primarily considering Irish-based cost engineers at this stage or those who are looking to permanently relocate to Ireland.

Cost Engineer Role:

The Cost Engineer will be working as part of a wider Project Controls teams for one of the largest Pharmaceutical manufacturing sites in Cork:

  • Ability to define the Cost Control process to support project requirements to record, track and report costs during the lifecycle of a project.
  • Ability to review and understand all relevant documentation pertaining to the project including Scope of Services, Conditions of Contract, Project Execution Plan, Project Schedule etc.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures for control of work defined by the contract.
  • Breakout of capital cost estimate into project budgets by company cost codes and networks as per the Corporate and Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Assessment of Value of Work Done (VOWD) relevant to engineering services, purchase orders and sub-contracts, by reviewing actual costs received and forecasting accrual to month end cut-off.

Requirements for Cost Engineer Role:

Demonstrably independent and proactive Cost Engineers have a real advantage, and you should have the following attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience on projects in the Pharmaceutical, Bio-Technology or Data Center industries.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
